Hello!

My name is Liana the Lemur.
I live in Madagascar, a BIG island in the Indian Ocean.
As you can see, I like to hang upside-down in the trees :)

I live in the jungle.
And I have lots of friends!
I would like to introduce you to some of them...

Some of my friends are really small.
Look at Cally, my little cameleon friend...
He is tiny, but oh so clever!
He wins every game of hide and seek we play. The jungle is just as green as he is :)

And here is my friend Bella, the butterfly
Isn't she beautiful?!
She is not exactly a champion in hide and seek...
But we land animals can never catch her, she flies wherever she wants!

Oh, hi! This is my brother Tiana
We're twins, but you probably guessed that already...
Do you see the raindrops on his nose?
The jungle where we live is also called a rainforest,
so it rains pretty often.
But our fur is so thick, that even when it rains a lot,
we don't get wet and cold.
The drops just fall off.
I really like that!

And this our grandma, Bebe...
(well, she's not really our grandma of course, but she's for sure the oldest!)
She could be 250 years old, or maybe even 300...
...she can't remember.
Her face looks a bit scary, but don't worry, she only eats greens.

If she's scared, you only see her shell
She thinks she's really good at hide and seek,
but actually we always find her first :)
But sshht... don't tell her that, it's our little secret, ok?

Let me think for a bit, who elso would you like to meet?

Ah, there's Froggy!
He always makes me laugh.
His eyes are so big and black
They look like they are going to pop out
but they never do!
He can jump real far.

Oh, and have you met Cranky yet?
He is a crab and he lives in the Jungle
I don't really like him...
do you see his claws?
Brrr... I try to keep my tail away from him!

There are some very interesting bugs flying around here...

Molly sure looks scary!
She is a moth.
But don't worry, she won't hurt you a bit.
It's just a way to scare away the birds
They think she looks scary too, so they don't try to eat her!
Do you see the bits of red on her back?
I think she's very very special!
And I never asked her, but I think she can smell very very well
with that big nose of hers :)

Cally the Cameleon has a lot of brothers and sisters and they all look different...

There's Nosy...
I think you can see for yourself how he got his name!

And there's Ginny
She can hold onto anything
with her special feet.

And Kely is showing off my yellow friend Izzy.
Most of us thought Izzy was a bit dangerous...
(...you know, in the jungle, the color yellow usually means danger!)
But not Izzy!
He is very kind.

Pa Patrick is another cameleon...
He doesn't like to be out of his tree
so I think we'll just leave him alone for now

Of course, we Lemurs have a very big family too!
I've heard people say that we only live in Madagascar and not anywhere else in the world...
but I've never been out of my island, so you'd have to ask someone else if that's true...

These 2 little ones are Gina and Nina
They are always on the look-out...
a bit nervous, those two.

The family ~Le Mura~ is not nervous at all...
They jump on people's shoulders all the time!

I love all my big and little friends!
And I love my JUNGLE!
I even know a jungle song
Maybe you know it too?
It goes like this...

Who's the King of the jungle?
Who's the King of the sea?
Who's the King of the universe?
And who's the King of me?

Oh, I say.... J-E-S-U-S

He's the King of me!
He's the King of the universe, the jungle and the sea!

We lemurs like to say goodbye with a fluffy tail-shake.

Bye-bye from
your lemur friend Liana!
